£6,500 raised for Young Minds UK
Last week Malcolm and Grant completed their 100 mile trek around Dartmoor, apparently ascending over 11,000 feet in the process ... although Grant assures us it felt like a lot more than that at times! Along the way, they were privileged to hear the stories of so many whose lives have in some way been touched by poor mental health and to have received donations for Young Minds UK from them, eager as so many are that others should be better supported in such times of need. Donations are still coming in, and with Gift Aid factored in, the total is now approaching a fantastic £6,500.
£5 funds a stigma busting pack for teachers and kids in schools; £15 ensures a Helpline Volunteer is on the end of the phone to provide information and support to distressed parents; £30 supports the training of a Young Minds Activist giving them the skills and confidence to speak out about mental health issues; £45 gives a parent or carer an hour with a mental health professional who can provide clinical guidance. Young Minds UK does amazing and vital work and we at Omada are just pleased to be able to support them as one of our chosen charities in 2019.
Thank you to everyone that sponsored Malcolm and Grant.
