Our chosen Christmas charities
Omada has chosen to support the work of two charities this Christmas, namely Practical Action and The Legacy List.Practical Action works with communities to find practical solutions to the poverty they face. Technology has a vital role to play in building livelihoods - and technology can include physical infrastructure, machinery and equipment, but also knowledge, skills and the capacity to organise and use all of these.Practical Action currently has over 100 projects worldwide. Last year it used technology to directly benefit over 900,000 poor women and men through projects in developing countries around the world. They work in four main areas : energy, water and sanitation, food and agriculture, disaster risk reduction. You can read more about their work at www.practicalaction.orgThose of you who attended our last Omada Breakfast Brief with Sarah Weir OBE will be very familiar with the work of The Legacy List which was set up to ensure that arts, culture, education and skills play a specific role in the legacy of the Olympic Park. We are delighted to have been able to support Sarah and her team this year and look forward to doing do for many years to come. You can read more about the work of The Legacy List at www.thelegacylist.org.uk
